The Afghan President Ashraf Ghani had earlier announced the ceasefire with the Afghan Taliban who are fighting in the country as a tough resistance force since their ouster. The Taliban Eid days’ ceasefire shows both a positive gesture to the Afghan leader’s announcement and a twist in their sixteen years long ouster from Kabul.

Though, the one and half decade war escalated since 2006 after the Taliban got muscles and proper safe heavens in Pakistan to give tough time both to Afghan government, the civilian and the International Community who’re inside Afghanistan for the security assistance under the leadership of NATO.

The Taliban call for ceasefire is only for Afghan government and they have excluded the International Community who have come under their attacks in the past.

The Afghan President also thanked the Taliban leadership for the announcement “We welcome the three days ceasefire announced by the Taliban starting on the first day of Eid. This comes following the bold decision by the Islamic republic of Afghanistan to cease the fight for a period of time”.

And Ashraf Ghani also thanked the International Community for their role in bringing peace to Afghanistan “I would like to thank our international partners such as the US, UK, EU and the Islamic Conference and in particular Afghans who supported us in this decision”.

The ceasefire is seemingly the ice-breaking ceremony to successful reconciliation of Afghan government with the Taliban leadership and it would possibly go the way earlier warlord and Taliban partner Hizb e Islami Afghanistan led by Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, who after his long war history inside Afghanistan has joined hands with Afghan government.

The ouster of Taliban regime through post 9/11 attacks:

Since the ouster of Taliban in post 9/11 attack of the International Community against their regime “The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan” that had sheltered the world terrorist groups including Al-Qaeda and its leader Osama Bin Laden who had claimed the 9/11 attack on the Twin Tower of World Trade Center and that resulted in the death of thousands of Americans.

The then American government though called upon International Community to go against the existence of terrorist organization “Al-Qaeda” causing deadly attacks against the Americans in Middle East, Africa and then had come to their own soil America.

Though, some of the insiders had advised the then Taliban emir of the faithful Mullah Omer, but he had rejected the idea to handover Osama Bin Laden to the American government for his “holy war” or Jihadi attack on their public.

Pakistan role in Afghanistan pre and post 9/11:

This forced American government and the then George W. Bush administration to warn Pakistan, the then most trusted ally of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to either be in the side of Taliban government or with the International Community who are up against the host of world top terrorist organization Al-Qaeda and its leadership. Who would probably have engineered the 9/11 attack from the Afghan soil.

The then army dictator General Pervez Musharraf though had contacts with the Taliban regime in Afghanistan or some sources note that it was actually the Pakistan army establishment that let the Taliban rule Afghanistan. But currently Pakistan a much isolated nation in the region is cornered by the International Community both to play role in “reconciliation of Afghan government with Taliban” and to go against all terrorists without the difference of “good and bad” at home in Pakistan in a recent phone call through the secretary of state Pompeo.

The forthcoming 24th June Financial Action Task Force, who’re reviewing Pakistan’s status for its “terrorist financing” for a probably grey list can isolate the country to a tough time in the future.
